These strange metal objects were given to me some time ago by my grandmother. She had no idea what they were used for or where she had picked them up herself but the floral pattern and material, some sort of metal, seemed the kind of thing I would like and have use for someday. Positing a purpose for these items became a fun topic of conversation for my grandmother, madre and I at family gatherings. Their repurposing as a candelabra is reflective of the way in which the objects came to me and were discussed by the three generations of women who found them interesting.
